What Is The Biosphere?
The biosphere is the layer of the planet Earth where all life exists. The biosphere is all about life and it extends into the atmosphere where insects and birds can be found.
How Does The Biosphere Interact With:
Lithosphere: The lithosphere gives wildlife land to have shelter on and live on. And without the lithosphere there would be no biosphere.
Hydrosphere: The hydrosphere provides all the water wildlife needs to survive. Water falls from the sky to Earth creating streams and rivers for the animals. Atmosphere: The atmosphere provides oxygen and protection for all wildlife. The atmosphere protects the biosphere from the harmful UV rays coming from the sun. |
Human Impact
1. Invasive Species: Humans often introduce new species into a ecosystem which can help reduce the problem. But often these new introductions can go terribly wrong. Since these invasive species don't have a natural predator they can't be get rid of easily. The picture to the right shows an invasive species in North Carolina.
2. Decrease Of Biodiversity: Biodiversity is essential for the health of ecosystems. Human societies have been built on biodiversity, so if the biodiversity isn't strong we're not strong. We are tearing animals habitats like nothing, as the population continues to grow, the biodiversity of an ecosystem decreases, which leads to extinction of a species. |
